From Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Michael holds a bachelor’s in science degree with a concentration in finance and Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama.

Michael began his career in banking at Regions/AmSouth, Wachovia/ SouthTrust, and eventually managed the budget and forecasting process for BBVA Compass. He joined FirstBank (NYSE: FBK) in 2012, as director of capital markets before rising to the position of chief financial officer. In this role, Michael is responsible for all accounting, finance, and investment initiatives for the bank, including capital markets, commercial loan hedging, mortgage trading and hedging, investor relations, secondary marketing, management of mortgage servicing rights, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Nashville-based FirstBank is the third largest Tennessee-headquartered bank, with 82 full-service branches across Tennessee, South Central Kentucky, Alabama, and North Georgia, and a national mortgage business with offices across the Southeast. The bank serves five of the major metropolitan markets in Tennessee and, with approximately $12.7 billion in assets, has the resources to provide a comprehensive variety of financial services and products.

Michael has served on multiple boards including The Freddie Mac Advisory Board, The FHLB of Cincinnati Advisory Board and prior to relocating to Franklin, The Red Mountain Theatre in Birmingham, Alabama and United Cerebral Palsy of Birmingham.
